7th Grade Science Fair Project Timeline Week 1 – December 10, 2007 to December 14, 2007 Science Fair Project Research Journal and Science Project Form– due December 14, 2007 Think about possible project ideas. Talk with your teachers, friends and family about your project. Choose a specific project topic. Complete the Science Project Proposal Form -- Science Buddies Weblink, page A-5. Write a description of what you want your project to involve. Begin now if plants are involved. Otherwise, results may not be obtained in time. Week 2 – December 14, 2007 to December 21, 2007 Science Fair Project Research Journal, Background Research Plan Worksheet, Variables and Hypothesis Worksheet -- due December 21, 2007 Develop your topic. Collect information regarding your topic. Conduct detailed research regarding you topic, making sure to take sufficient notes. Record all sources of information that you obtain in your Science Fair Project Research Journal. Form your hypothesis and complete the Variables & Hypothesis Worksheet -- Science Buddies Weblink, page A-10. Formulate specific procedures for your project and begin experimentation. Make sure you are filling out your Bibliography -- Science Buddies Weblink, page A-8 along the way. You will need to reference all sources (internet, books, magazines, etc.) that you have used. ****These next 3 weeks will begin during Christmas Break. **** ****Please use this time wisely! **** Week 3 – December 22, 2007 to December 29, 2007 Continue your experiments. Conduct many tests in order to ensure that your results are accurate. Carefully record your experiments. Make appointments to talk with resource people (those who may be able to help you with your ideas.)
